MEDIA RELEASE 27 March 2007 18 councils drop into Hervey Bay Wide Bay Water Corporation brought 18 councils to the Fraser Coast last week for a data management conference. WBWC IT manager Brett Kruger said it was the corporation's first time hosting the biannual conference and the new format was a success. "We changed it from a one-day meeting to a two-day event and that was really successful because it allowed more councils to participate," he said. "Sometimes it's just too far for council's to go for one day." In all, 35 delegates attended the South East Queensland DataWorks User Group meeting at WBWC's training room at the Burgowan Water Treatment Plant near Torbanlea. The meetings are designed for sharing information and solving problems about data management. The group used their overnight stay for a networking dinner at 12 Monkeys restaurant on the Esplanade.
